Siem Reap, 20 October 2019 – Alliance Française Siem Reap and Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort joined together to organize the first edition of Alliance Française Golf Tournament on Sunday 20 October 2019 at Phokeethra Country Club.

The event gathered golf amateurs for
a friendly tournament and beginners for a golf initiation.
During 4 hours, players confronted their skills and talent over elements at Phokeethra Country Club
In the meantime, a putting competition was held to discover golf with, at the end, an exciting prize for the winner.

When all players came back to the Club House, lunch was served and lucky winners of gifts generously offered by event’s partners spellbound until final results of the tournament.

Fabrice Ho, Golf Manager of Phokeethra Country Club, said “The tournament was fantastic! It was also the opportunity to introduce the Asia Pacific Golf Resort of the Year 2020 award of Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort discerned by IAGTO last week in Marrakech, Morocco.”

2nd Net – Gen. Ghek Keo
3rd Net – Mr. Christophe Martin

The winners in front of the Roluos bridge. The Roluos bridge is dated from the 11th century and is declared as an archaeological site preserved by the UNESCO. In the ancient time of the Khmer Empire, travellers and pious pilgrims would take this route, connecting Angkor to Phimai in Thailand.
